How ShineCrew fits together
Everything belongs to one car wash. When you sign up as an owner, that car wash is created with you as its administrator, and it gets two codes:
- a public link and QR code for your booking page, which anyone can use to book a wash without installing anything;
- a cleaner referral code, which is how a cleaner joins your team when they sign up.
Your data is scoped to your car wash on the server — bookings, customers, cleaners, photos and revenue. No other business on ShineCrew can see any of it.
A booking moves through six states: pending when it arrives, assigned when you pick a cleaner, confirmed once that cleaner accepts, in progress when they start, completed when they finish — or cancelled. Assigning is not the same as confirming: a cleaner can decline, and the job comes back to you to reassign.
Setting up your car wash
- Create your owner account. Open the app, tap Sign up, choose Car wash owner, and give your name, your car wash name, phone, email and a password.
- Build your service packages. Profile → Manage → Service Packages → the add button. Each package needs a Package Name, Price, Duration in minutes, and optionally a Description and comma-separated Features. This is exactly what customers see and book, so name them the way you would say them out loud.
- Add your cleaners. Cleaners tab → add. You set their name, email, phone, a password and their skills. Alternatively give them the referral code from Profile → Manage → Share & Grow and they sign up themselves as a Cleaner.
- Share your booking page. Profile → Manage → Share & Grow holds your Public link and QR code, and the switch for Accept online bookings. Put the link in your bio, print the QR for the window.
- Start your trial. Profile → Manage → Subscription. Read section 7 before you tap it — the trial converts on its own.
Running the day — for owners
Four tabs: Dashboard, Bookings, Cleaners, Profile.
Assigning a booking
- New bookings land in Bookings as pending.
- Open one and choose a cleaner. The booking becomes assigned and that cleaner is notified.
- When they accept it becomes confirmed. If they decline, you get a notification with their reason and the job returns to you — reassign it to someone else.
Recording that a customer has paid
Your customers pay you, not ShineCrew, so the app cannot know when that has happened — you tell it. Every booking card carries a PAID or UNPAID chip, and opening one shows Has the customer paid? with three choices: Not paid yet, Paid and Refunded. Tap one and it saves immediately.
Reading the Dashboard
The amber banner at the top is the only part that needs action — it counts bookings with no cleaner yet, and tapping it opens them. Under the greeting sits a strip of Revenue, Bookings and Rating, then Overview and At a glance breaking those down by cleaners, customers and packages, and Everything else jumping to the screens that are not tabs.
Your customer list
Dashboard → Customers is everyone who has booked with you. Tap a card for their contact details, account information and preferences. The list fills itself as people book — it is a record, not an address book, so there is no way to add someone by hand and nobody appears until they have made a booking.
Notifications
The bell in the Dashboard hero opens the durable record of everything the app has told you: a booking arriving, a payment going through, and — the one that matters — a cleaner declining a job. Unread items carry a dot and are counted at the top; tapping one marks it read. This list lives on the server, so if push is switched off at the operating-system level, or you simply missed one, nothing is lost.
Watching the money
Profile → Manage → Analytics is the one to trust for trends: revenue, booking volume and daily movement over a period you choose. Profile → Manage → Feedback lists every rating customers left, tied to the cleaner who did the job.
Doing the job — for cleaners
Cleaners sign up with the owner's referral code and get three tabs: Home, Tasks and Profile.
Home is today: a strip showing Today, Done and Left, then the jobs due today in order. Tasks is everything assigned to you, whenever it is due.
The five steps of a job
Everything happens on a job's Task Details screen, which also carries what you need before setting off: Car Information (vehicle, colour, licence plate, size), Location, Date & Time, What's Included and the Total Amount.
- Accept Task — or Decline with a reason. Accepting confirms the booking for the customer.
- Before Starting — take the Before Photo. If a Tyre Pressure Check was requested, record the Previous Pressure here.
- Start Task — this tells the customer you are on the job.
- After Finishing — take the After Photo, record the After Pressure if it was asked for, and add a Completion Note if there is anything the customer should know.
- Mark as Completed.
The app enforces the order: Start Task will not go through without a before photo, and Mark as Completed will not go through without an after photo. That is deliberate — the pair is the whole point.
Booking a wash — for customers
Customers do not install anything. They open the car wash's public link or scan its QR code and get a page with Our services, Book a wash and My bookings.
- Pick a service and tap Book this service.
- Fill in the car make, model, colour, the address where we should come, a preferred date and time, and an email address and phone number.
- Settle with the car wash directly. The package price is shown before you book — ShineCrew does not take card payment at the point of booking.
- Follow it under My bookings — progress, the cleaner assigned, and the before & after photos once the job is done.
- Leave a rating afterwards under Rate your wash.
My bookings is saved on that device. Tapping Email me my bookings sends the list to the address used, which is how to get it back on a new phone.

Billing and your subscription
ShineCrew costs £29.00 per month for the whole car wash — unlimited cleaners, unlimited bookings. Cleaners and customers pay nothing.
Cancelling
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → ShineCrew → Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → ShineCrew → Cancel subscription.
- Cancel at least 24 hours before the next renewal for it to take effect.
You can do this during the trial, in which case you are never charged. On a paid plan, future charges stop and you keep access until the month you paid for runs out. Ask us within 14 days of a charge and we will back your refund request, but Apple or Google issues it — the Refund & Cancellation Policy has the detail.
Money your customers pay for washes never passes through ShineCrew at all. They settle with you directly; the app records the total and lets you mark each booking paid, and we take no commission on any wash.
Privacy, in one paragraph
We hold what a car wash needs to turn up and clean the right car: names, contact details, the address, vehicle details including the registration plate, and before & after photos. We never see card numbers — the subscription is an in-app purchase billed by Apple or Google, and washes are not paid for in the app at all. We never sell personal data, never use it for advertising, and never use your photos to train third-party AI models. Data is scoped to your car wash on the server, so no other business can read it. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Troubleshooting
A cleaner cannot sign up
They need your referral code, from Profile → Manage → Share & Grow, and they must choose Cleaner rather than Car wash owner on the signup screen.
My booking page shows no services
Create at least one package in Profile → Manage → Service Packages, and check Accept online bookings is on in Share & Grow.
The booking page says bookings are closed
Either Accept online bookings is switched off, or the subscription has lapsed. Check Profile → Manage → Subscription.
A job is stuck as assigned
The cleaner has not accepted it yet. If they declined, you will find a notification with their reason — open Bookings and assign someone else.
I am not getting notifications
Push has to be allowed at the operating-system level: check your phone's notification settings for ShineCrew. Anything push told you is also kept in the Notifications screen, so nothing is lost while it is off.
A payment failed
Apple or Google retries a failed subscription payment over the following days, and access continues while it does. Update your payment method in your Apple Account or Google Account settings — we cannot change it for you.
Something else
Write to us from Profile → Support in the app, or email support.carwash@helloworldtech.com. We reply within 2 business days. Telling us your app version helps — the support form attaches it for you.
