Privacy Policy

The short version. This site sets no cookies, shows no ads, and builds no profile of you. Analytics are anonymous and aggregated. The only personal information we ever hold is what you type into the contact form, and we only use it to reply.

1. Who we are

ShineCrew is a product we build and demonstrate. This policy covers this marketing website only — not the ShineCrew mobile app, which handles bookings and payments and is covered separately.

2. What we collect

Analytics

We use Umami, which we host ourselves at analytics.helloworldtech.com. It is privacy-focused and cookieless: it sets nothing on your device and cannot follow you to other websites. Because we self-host it, the statistics stay on our own server and are not shared with an advertising network.

For each visit it records, in aggregate:

the page you viewed and the site that referred you
your browser, operating system, device type and screen size
your language and country
which buttons and links were clicked, and how far down the page visitors scrolled

Your IP address is used momentarily to derive your country and a rotating, salted identifier that lets us count a visit without knowing who you are. The raw IP address is not written to the analytics database, and the identifier cannot be reversed or linked to you across days.

We never send the contents of the contact form to analytics. Your name, email and message are deliberately excluded from every analytics event.

Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in understanding, at an aggregate level, whether the site works and which pages are worth keeping.

The contact form

If you fill in the contact form, we collect the name, email address and message you provide. We use them for one thing: to read your enquiry and reply to it. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not sell or rent your details to anyone.

Lawful basis: your consent, given by choosing to send us the message, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our work.

Anti-spam

When you submit the form, your IP address is held in memory for a short period purely to limit how many messages can be sent from one place. It is not written to disk, not stored in a database, and is discarded when the server restarts.

3. Who else sees it

We keep the list of third parties deliberately short:

Discord. Contact form messages are delivered into a private Discord channel that we monitor. This means your name, email and message are transmitted to and stored by Discord Inc. on our behalf. Their handling is governed by the Discord Privacy Policy.
Our hosting provider, [YOUR HOSTING PROVIDER], which serves this site and processes the ordinary connection data any web server sees.

Analytics are not in this list: we host Umami ourselves, so no third party receives your browsing data. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

4. How long we keep it

Enquiries: kept while we're in touch and for [e.g. 24 months] after, so we have a record of what was discussed. Ask and we'll delete them sooner.
Analytics: aggregate statistics, retained for [e.g. 24 months]. They aren't linked to you, so they can't be picked out and removed individually.
Anti-spam IP records: minutes, in memory only.

5. Your rights

Under [UK GDPR / EU GDPR — confirm which applies to you] you can ask us to give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct it if it's wrong, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive it in a portable format. You can also withdraw consent at any time.

Email [YOUR CONTACT EMAIL] and we'll respond within one month. In practice, if you've only ever sent us a message through the form, deleting it is the whole job and we can do it right away.

If you think we've got it wrong, you can complain to your data protection regulator — [e.g. the ICO at ico.org.uk in the UK].

6. Cookies

7. Changes

If we change what we collect, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be called out here rather than slipped in quietly.
